Quicky comment on the New Slipknot cd and preview on Loudwire

Loudwire and Revolver Magazine gave Slipknot great reviews. These sites cater to the genre and enjoy the musical artists that appear. There is always a mixture of good and bad reviews. Now they both had excellent reviews that explained why the music rated so highly. Now let us look at establishment Rolling Stone Magazine which rarely has a metal band on its cover and has many times shown distaste for even classical metal cds . They rated the new cd with 2 and half stars inferring that the band were still mourning their band member Paul Grey. Very nice analysis for looking a new cd. Not only that but higher ratings went to Neil Diamond`s best of tracks. Not mention how hard it was to find the review while the review for cool Weezer was featured. Do not get me wrong, I love Weezer but a music magazine should not just feature old rock bands, pop and alt. groups with breadcrumbs to other rock genres. Oh I know you are going to say that pop music sells more than hard rock and metal. Actually not , check figures for BMIs for consistent by genre and you will find that pop actually sells way less than even country but they know how to peddle themselves and are safe listening. The genre fits a conservative and religious population and thereby is perfect for the media. Hard rock and metal have the numbers but cost too much money to bleep . Why bother reading reviews anymore that come from magazines that are still have reviewers that originate from the sixties. Wait till Rolling Stones hears about a new Who cd. If you are looking for a metal review on Slipknot do not tread over to Rolling Stone Mag. Here is also Loudwire`s exclusive preview to the cd.

Pink Floyd, Twin Peaks,Nobel Prizes, Nothing More and Harper

I want to talk about a few themes today. Let`s talk ISIS. Is it worth Canada and the U.S investing huge military contributions to eradicate this terrorist group? No it is not. ISIS is another small terrorist group that has risen to the media because of its beheadings in public. We must take into consideration that this group is no more effective than the Hamas or Hezbollah when it comes to war except that the fear mongering has erupted because of their violent tendencies. Destroying this group will take at least a decade if indeed they are ever destroyed. We will lose plenty of Canadians for nothing because if they are eventually eradicated another group will come in its place. Let the groups in the Middle East fight it out. Contributions of food and guns is reasonable to fight off these groups but actuallyu offering our soldiers is outrageous. Another reason for voting out Harper. Talking about Harper, today I learned that Harper is the only head of state to reject a U.N statute protecting the rights of the indigenous people while he has destroyed the environmental laws in Canada. However, there is a good chance the illiterates of Canada will vote him back in as they did for Rob Ford even though he is a blatant racist and exhibits other weird behavior. Vote out Harper and put pressure on Obama to stop the madness.

David Lynch`s Twin Peaks is coming back in 2016. I can only hope it never happens. You can not repeat the creativity in the script again and a decent followup is unlikely.
